Someone asks me about partner website codes every couple of weeks. Same question every time: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code doesn't touch it.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. Nothing more complicated than that.
What's the bonus amount?
Deposit $1,000 and get $200.
Deposit $2,000 for $400 bonus.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Not many traders reach that level.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Top tier reaches £11,200.
Account minimum is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.
The code field isn't obvious
When you're signing up. Below the phone field, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
If you see an error, it's fine. Go ahead and register anyway. Contact support before funding. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They do this manually all the time.
You can't withdraw the bonus straight away
There's a volume requirement.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units to unlock a $200 bonus. Takes a while if you trade small. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
Your own money stays yours. Access it whenever you need. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Something useful to understand: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. You can hold larger positions than your deposit alone would allow. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
